Pannonia Allstars Ska Orchestra – Ghost Train

PASOPannonia Allstars Ska Orchestra is a unique ska band coming from Hungary. As matter of fact, it’s one of rare real and authentic ska bands from Balkans. Their main style is traditional ska, without a doubt, but they do incorporate variety of other styles. So, you can hear strong Balkans influences in opening song “Balkan Dancehall” which introduces interesting combination of ragga/dancehall rhythms and Balkans brass grooves. Second song, “Ghost Train”, is a real thing – a mighty funky-ska stuff. Heavy bass line in combination with a funky keyboards, guitars and brass section create an irresistible urge to dance and completely lose oneself. After those two intro songs, pure ska groove with original as well as with British influences is dominant almost all the way to the end of the album. Three tracks can capture your attention: dynamic “Billy Boyo”, fantastic cover “Imperial Reggae” and sweet and lovely “Million Times”. These guys are for real, I recommend checking them out if you take yourself for a serious fan of ska music.
